United Way of King County’s Climb for the Community begins July 5. Join these community leaders as they show their support for United Way’s Response for Basic Needs and climb to the top of Mount Rainier.

The climbers:

  • Roger Goodell – NFL Commissioner
  • Jon Fine – United Way of King County President and CEO
  • Jim Mora – Seattle Seahawks Head Coach
  • Tod Leiweke – Seattle Seahawks CEO
  • Molly Nordstrom – United Way of King County Board Chair
  • Fred Kiga - The Boeing Company Vice
  • United Way of King County’s success can be attributed to the tremendous efforts of our 2008-2009 campaign chair, Tod Leiweke, CEO of the Seattle Seahawks and Sounders FC.

    Tod has worked hard to bring attention to the needs in our community, and to raise money in support of real solutions. He has made a vast array of resources available to United Way of King County, and he has shown us what it means to be a strong and visionary campaign chair.

    Good luck to Seattle’s new Major League Soccer team, the Sounders FC! Today is their home opener.

    When people are inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame, they receive a special gold jacket. Our Campaign Chair and Seattle Seahawks CEO, Tod Leiweke, has been such a great campaign quarterback for United Way, we wanted to show our appreciation for all that he’s done in a similar fashion. So at the Spirit of Caring Celebration, United Way CEO Jon Fine proudly presented Tod with a jacket emblazoned with a special patch that says, “United Way of King County Hall of Fame Enshrinee.”…
