The Climb for the Community team spent all of yesterday on the lower slopes of Mount Rainier training in “mountaineering day school.” This morning climbers started their two-day trek to the summit.

Today Qwest Field Plaza will host United Way of King County’s Community Resource Exchange. The event connects thousands of people experiencing homelessness in our region with the services and resources they need, in one place, on one day.
It’s an amazing event that makes a real and lasting difference in people’s lives.

When people are inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame, they receive a special gold jacket. Our Campaign Chair and Seattle Seahawks CEO, Tod Leiweke, has been such a great campaign quarterback for United Way, we wanted to show our appreciation for all that he’s done in a similar fashion. So at the Spirit of Caring Celebration, United Way CEO Jon Fine proudly presented Tod with a jacket emblazoned with a special patch that says, “United Way of King County Hall of Fame Enshrinee.”…
