To celebrate the successful summit of Mount Rainier, the Seahawks will hoist the 12th MAN Flag in honor of the Climb at tonight’s September 3 pre-season game against the Oakland Raiders. The flag-raising is a celebration of all that the Climb has made possible—in stocking area food banks, bolstering delivery of nutritious meals for…
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Seattle Seahawks head coach Jim Mora have gotten most of the press attention related to United Way’s Climb for the Community. But what about Tod Leiweke, Seattle Seahawks CEO and the man with the original idea for the Climb?
Tod was right there on the top of Mount Rainier Wednesday morning celebrating with the commissioner and Coach Mora. In fact, this is his second summit of the mountain. He climbed it for the first time last summer.

It’s the start of a new workweek. And Jon Fine’s day as CEO of United Way of King County looks nothing like a usual Monday.

Weather and muscles permitting, over the next few days Jon will be climbing to the top of Mount Rainier along…
As many Americans did this weekend, I celebrated our nation’s birthday by doing what else–grilling with friends and family. At one barbecue I attended, I was surprised and delighted to find United Way-branded Jones Soda in the cooler. The bottles feature Seattle Seahawks head coach Jim Mora and are helping to raise awareness about United Way’s Climb for the Community.
Buy a 24-pack of the limited-edition Jones Soda at Costco and other fine retailers, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit United…
