Take action to protect disabled, low-income people in our community!

The arguments put forth by United Way CEO Jon Fine and United Way board member Dan Brettler are still true today and powerful reasons to preserve GAU. It’s a little late in the day to be posting this, but I felt it was important to talk about some of the ways businesses are thanking our veterans and active military today.

I learned today that military veterans are twice as likely to be homeless as non-vets. What a staggering stat! To help homeless veterans and other people in need, please give $10 and ask 10 of your friends to join you. It’s a small way to make a big difference.

On the 11th hour of the 11th day…

I was going to write a post about homeless veterans for today, but instead will simply share Paul Davis’ editorial from Fresno.  Mr. Davis is the founder of The Center for American Veteran Empowerment, and he really says what I wanted to say today.  Just much better than I could.  :-)
