We’re #1! “United Way of King County tops nation in fundraising”

Let the fist pumping and general merriment begin! We are proud to announce that our community raised $101.2 million for our annual fundraising campaign. This makes us the number-one United Way in the country!

Seattleites are constantly complaining about the city’s frustrating parking situation, and with good reason.  Not only is the closest available parking for Pioneer Square somewhere in Pullman, but the cost of parking downtown even for just a few hours ranges between mildly outrageous to “I wonder how much they want for the down payment?”

United Way of King County’s Spirit of Caring Celebration is a special evening dedicated to recognizing and thanking the extraordinary people in our community who are stepping up, standing out and giving back—including you!

    Microsofties Create Photography Book for Us!

    If you like photography and great causes, then I have a great deal for you.

    As part of their giving campaign, over 200 Microsoft employees came together to create a fine art photography book where all the profits go to United Way of King County.  The book is offered for purchase at the cost of printing plus $25.00.     Who gives more to charity — the rich or the poor?  It’s obvious that by only counting dollar amounts, you would say the rich give more.  But what if you look at how much each group gives in proportion to their income?
