Basic Food questions? Get your answers here.

14 February 2013 No Comment Basic Needs , Community News , Hunger Action Week
  • Did you know that Basic Food (food stamp) benefits enable thousands of King County families to eat and live better every day?
  • Do you help people apply for Basic Food, either as an outreach specialist, or as a Bridge to Basics volunteer?
  • Have you ever had questions you wished a Basic Food expert from DSHS could help you answer?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, you don’t want to miss this month’s Basic Food Outreach Forum, hosted by WithinReach! Regardless of your previous knowledge of Basic Food and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, you’ll be able to ask a panel of experts from DSHS any burning questions you have about eligibility and the application process.  This forum is a fantastic opportunity to find answers that will help you serve King County families more effectively.  Check here to read about how last November’s forum helped Olivia, one of United Way’s Hunger Free King County VISTAs, expand her knowledge and understand the program better.
