32 King County Organizations Step Up to Invest in Volunteer Engagement!

5 February 2013 No Comment United Way News , Volunteer Management

United Way is pleased to announce the selection of 32 health and human services organizations to participate in the United Way Volunteer Impact Partnership’s two feature programs, VIP 360 and VIP Manager Corps. Funded by United Way, the Volunteer Impact Partnership programs are delivered to King County organizations in partnership with 501 Commons.

Why VIP? Today many nonprofit organizations are struggling with an increased demand for their services, but significantly reduced resources. Continuing to deliver on their mission requires both strategic and creative thinking.  Investing in Volunteer Engagement efforts to use volunteer resources more effectively is one of the creative strategies helping organizations to meet the demand.  United Way is bringing extra focus and resources to the volunteer engagement efforts of local nonprofits through a successful, expanding program called the Volunteer Impact Partnership, or VIP.  Started in 2009, VIP has helped 50 area organizations to enhance their volunteer engagement efforts and broaden volunteerism.

VIP works!

VIP helped us amplify our volunteer program. We’re witnessing the results of having a solid structure, enhanced coordination and stronger leadership—thank you.” —Mimi Siegel, Executive Director, Kindering
