This photo could have taken the prize for several categories, but we felt it best embodied creativity in the team’s putting its best foot (and arms and legs!) forward to spell “LIVE UNITED!”—United Way’s tagline. Thanks, Nth Degree CPAs, for getting your hands dirty in helping Friends of Leschi Natural Area, a volunteer-run neighborhood group, to beautify their community greenspace. Way to LIVE UNITED!

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation employees spent the day spiffing up Childhaven’s vans, which travel hundreds of miles each week to ensure that the children are provided with Childhaven’s therapeutic child care service. We have appropriately dubbed this photo “The Ninja Cleaner.” Thanks to the Gates Foundation for getting out there and having fun!

Volunteers from Microsoft brightened up the play area at Tiny Tots Development Center in South Seattle. Tiny Tots provides quality early learning to children from a variety of economic and ethnic backgrounds. What a transformation! Volunteers from Microsoft spent the day building mountain bike trails at Tiger Mountain with Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance. Everyone in this photo is working hard and working together to better the community—and smiling all the while. Now that’s spirit!
