New Solutions Impact Council Update

31 December 2009 No Comment United Way News

Greetings from the New Solutions Impact Council!   We wanted to give a quick update to all of our readers that UWKC’s New Solutions Community Impact Council has been working very hard on several key projects.  At the December meeting, we discussed our progress and ongoing work  involving the faith community with UWKC to a greater extent.  This will provide the New Solutions Council and UWKC as a whole, more opportunities to find out what the needs are of people who traditionally are served only by their faith community as well as how UWKC and our partners can possibly assist in addressing some of those needs.  We are excited to learn about issues, information, etc. that the faith leaders in our community can provide us not only about what the needs are but many other critical pieces of information that their expertise will provide to us!  We gave our volunteers an update on our campaign season and talked more about our interest in possibly developing a World Café approach to our work.  We plan to have our first Community Conversation in the first quarter of 2010 and are doing some preliminary planning on the small grants agency application process to begin in the summer of 2010.   The New Solutions Council looks forward to continuing our role in discovering and addressing the various new and emerging needs in our community.

Thank you for your interest in the work of the New Solutions Community Council.  We will update you again in January!  Happy New Year!!!
