4 ways you make a real difference for people experiencing homelessness
Every day people across King County’s suburbs, cities and towns live without shelter and hope. On September 11, United Way of King County’s Community Resource Exchange will connect people experiencing homelessness in our region with the services and resources they need—in one place, on one day. Join United Way of King County to help those individuals and families who never expected that they would need a hand.
Here are 4 easy ways you can step up and make a real difference:
• Organize a supply drive. Help spearhead a supply drive for the Community Resource Exchange at your company, church, school or within your neighborhood—and make a world of difference in the lives of so many who so desperately need it. Simply sign up on United Way’s Web site and choose to collect backpacks, news socks, new undergarments, hygiene items or winter coats.
• Give money to United Way’s Response to Basic Needs. Your gift will help families maintain stable housing.
• Volunteer your time and talents can help end homelessness. Click here to find volunteer opportunities.
• Learn more what causes homelessness and the solutions that are available. Knowledge drives action to end homelessness.
