July 9 event: Examining our investment in early education

7 July 2009 No Comment Early Learning

We know that investing in early learning is one of the most effective strategies we have to improve the success of K-12 education. Both public and private partners in our state have devoted a lot of attention and energy to early learning over the past few years. We have new agencies, new collaborations, and new funding commitments. We’ve also recently come out of a legislative session where tough decisions about early learning funding reductions had to be made. What’s the impact of all of this attention and action? What gains have been made for young children and their families? What are the next steps for all of us in ensuring that all children are prepared to succeed in kindergarten and beyond?

United Way of King County is proud to co-present the July 9 CityClub panel discussion about investing in early education. The panel includes United Way’s senior vice president of Community Services, David Okimoto.
